My artistic evolution began as a rebellion against my inner critic and a hope for psychic healing. After a hiatus following my formal art education—prompted by confrontations with my need to get everything 'right'—I attempted to do the exact opposite, by shifting my focus from the ending, to the journey.

Whether it’s painting on large canvases, or digitally illustrating following one-line, there is no premeditated intention, this is why I liken my artistic process to free association in the therapy room. It is a skill to hone, to be able to free associate, as we are often chastised by the voice in our head (superego), reinforcing what is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’.

Creating art freely has been a transformative journey, allowing me to live more harmoniously with the many dimensions of my ‘self.’ My artwork serves as a mirror, reflecting my internal state during the creative process.

I hope that others find what resonates with them in my work,

and perhaps use it as a tool to for self-discovery and acceptance.
